Information for Members of the Military
Sacred Heart University honors the dedication and sacrifice of members of the military with a commitment to helping prepare them for career success through education. To ease the financial burden on our military families, we have instituted several military-friendly benefits and policies:
- Eligible service members can take advantage of SHU's participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program.
- Sacred Heart University is approved for the Montgomery and Post 9/11 GI Bills.
Members of the military and their dependents have the advantage of studying at a university named one of the top universities in the North by U.S. News & World Report in its 2011 "Best Colleges" edition and listed in the 2011 edition of the Princeton Review's The Best 373 Colleges, as well as the convenience and flexibility of earning a degree from an accredited school with online programs that accommodate military lifestyles and global deployments.
Eligibilty Requirements
To be eligible for these benefits, active duty members and military reservists, including the National Guard, must provide COE's (certificate of eligibility) and DD214 forms with expiration dates. Military spouses and other dependents must provide their dependent ID card or their sponsor's Department of Defense ID card with the expiration date.
