(Oct. 13, 2014) — Todd Gibbs returns to Sacred Heart University as executive director of Alumni Relations, University Advancement. He will focus on developing and expanding SHU’s alumni engagement through leadership giving and alumni participation in University programs and activities.
Gibbs comes to SHU from Pegasus Therapeutic Riding, where he served as the executive director. There he managed the nonprofit’s comprehensive program with a strong focus on fundraising, relationship development, brand creation and public relations, with direct responsibility for securing the charitable resources necessary to sustain regular operations and fund special projects and capital initiatives. He also has held senior positions at Ruotolo Associates as fundraising consultant/managing director, Church Division, as well as at Quinnipiac University, his alma mater.
“I am excited to rejoin Sacred Heart at a time when there is a critical focus on the engagement of our diverse 36,000-member alumni community,” says Gibbs. “My role will have a primary focus on SHU’s strategic alumni development objectives in the context of fostering mutually beneficial relationships. I am very encouraged to see how positive our graduates are about their SHU experiences and the value of their education. We have a global alumni community that is accomplished, enthusiastic, service-oriented and deeply interested in how they connect with fellow graduates, current students and future Pioneers. I look forward to serving them and ensuring their involvement in every aspect of University life, activities and programs.”
Gibbs earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and health science studies from Quinnipiac University. He resides in Watertown with his wife and two daughters.
