Sacred Heart is committed to offering an affordable, accessible education to students. Tuition rates per credit hour are listed below, but the total cost of each program may vary by student depending on transfer credits.

Tuition 2017-2018


RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Cost per credit hour: $575
Cost per credit hour (Partnership Tuition): $520
Total credit hours: 30-120 (Depending on transfer credit)

Application Fee: $50
Registration Fee: $115 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Clinical Placement Fee: $160 (Only charged for clinical courses: NU 376, NU 386/NU 387)
Learning Technology Fee: $160 (Only charged for NU 325)


RN to Bachelor to Master of Science in Nursing

Cost per credit hour: $575 (undergraduate coursework) + $690 (graduate coursework)
Cost per credit hour (Partnership Tuition): $520 (undergraduate coursework) + $620 (graduate coursework)
Total credit hours: 30-120 undergraduate credits (Depending on transfer credit) + 24-27 graduate credits (Depending on specialization)

Application Fee: $50
Registration Fee: $115 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Library Fee: $40 (Charged once per 16 week semester for graduate coursework only)
Clinical Placement Fee: $160 (Only charged for NU680, NU 690, and NU 672)
Learning Technology Fee: $160 (Only charged for NU 325, NU 554, NU 611, and NU 612)


Master of Science in Nursing

Cost per credit hour (Partnership Tuition): $620
Total credit hours: 24-39 credits (Depending on transfer credit and specialization)

Library Fee: $40 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Clinical Placement Fee: $160 (Only charged for NU680, NU 690, and NU 672)

Family Nurse Practitioner

Cost per credit hour: $890
Cost per credit hour (Partnership Tuition): $800
Total credit hours: 42 credits 

Application Fee: $50
Deposit (applied to tuition): $1,000
Registration Fee: $115 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Library Fee: $40 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Clinical Placement Fee: $550 (Only charged for NU561, NU 621, and NU 631)
Laboratory Fee: $1,100 (Charged for NU 552)


Post-Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice

Cost per credit hour: $940
Total credit hours: 39 credits

Registration Fee: $115 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Library Fee: $40 (Charged once per 16 week semester)
Clinical Placement Fee: $150 (Charged for NU 810 and NU820)


Master of Science in Applied Psychology

Cost per credit hour (Partnership Tuition): $790

Master of Social Work

Placement Fee: $100.00


Important Note: If information regarding billing is needed, it is the student's responsibility to contact the Student Accounts Office at 203-371-7925, prior to the scheduled payment dates to avoid any late payment charges.

If you wish for the Office of Student Accounts to speak with any party other than yourself, Student Accounts will need your authorization. Log on to your student account to add the other party as an authorized user.

It is the sole responsibility of the student to maintain a current mailing address with the Registrar's Office. Log onto WebAdvisor to update your personal information.

Financial Aid Eligibility

At Sacred Heart University, we understand that a graduate education is a significant investment. We are committed to helping students explore all of the available aid options open to them.

Researching financial aid can be confusing. Call us at 877-791-7181 for assistance throughout the process.

Please note that to be considered for federal financial aid, students must meet the following conditions:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident (eligible non-citizen) and have documented proof of status
  • Admitted and matriculating in a degree program
  • Not be in default on a prior federal student loan and not owe a refund on a federal student grant
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress as defined by the Sacred Heart University Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which you may do online, you will need our school code, 001403. Before beginning your FAFSA, make sure you have applied for and received a FSA ID.

Once your FAFSA application has been submitted, you will fill out this form to complete your school application and qualify for financial aid.

Please note that additional documentation may be required, such as:

  • Proof of citizenship
  • Proof of selective service registration
  • Verification documents such as the current year Federal Tax Return Transcripts, W2 forms and Verification Worksheets

Certificate Programs Loan & Financing Options

Certificate Programs at Sacred Heart University are not eligible for federal, state, or institutional financial aid. We encourage students to review the financing options available to them to meet their personal financial needs.
