Degree and Minimum GPA	Clinical Nurse Leader, Nursing Management & Executive Leadership, and Nursing Education specialization: BA or BS degree with a major in nursing, and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0; RNs can also have an associate degree or a diploma in nursing and a bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing with a minimum nursing and overall GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializations: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college with a GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0
Transcripts	Official transcripts of all prior nursing and academic work
Official GMAT/GRE	No GMAT/GRE scores required
Current Licensure	Copy of current, unencumbered U.S. RN license from the state where you practice
Two Recommendation Letters	Two letters of recommendation, with at least one from a direct supervisor
Additional Requirements	Completed criminal background check Résumé Statement of professional goals Prerequisites: Undergraduate course in statistics (minimum of grade C or better) and an undergrad health assessment course (minimum of grade C or better) if applicant does not hold an undergrad degree with a major in nursing. Undergraduate research course recommended. Proof of individual and professional liability insurance coverage

Note: Students may be required to travel significant distances to access clinical sites and achieve the necessary clinical hours.

International Students

At Sacred Heart University, we welcome students from all around the world. If you are an international student and are interested in enrolling in the online MSN, you should submit the MSN admission requirements listed above, as well as the following:

Course Evaluation	A course-by-course evaluation (and a translation, if applicable) from an acceptable transcript evaluation services agency, such as World Education Services.
TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB scores	If English is not your native language, you need a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 70 (iBT). Or, a minimum IELTS score of 6.

If you are unable to provide proof of English language proficiency, Sacred Heart University can administer an online English proficiency test for you. Also, please note that international students on an F-1 student visa are not permitted to enroll in online programs.

Transfer Credit

Depending on your specialization, you may transfer in up to 6 or 12 credits you’ve earned in previous master’s-level courses. This is subject to credit eligibility and program director approval.
